STAFF Changes At STAP - Long overdue information
Sunday, June 13, 2010
We have a have had a couple of staff changes at STAP over the last year or so.
Firstly our long term engineer and friend Shaun Firth has left us last fall for an extended medical leave of absence. Shaun soldiered on for many years in the face of adversity, but finally had just had enough and needed an opportunity to heal. He can now focus on his health and we hope that he will find some relief. We certainly expect that when he feels up to it, he can return to STAP and continue his excellent work.
5 year veteran recording engineer Laura Davies left STAP over a year ago for the west coast lifestyle. Perhaps even we need to admit that sitting in a Toronto studio does not compare to drinking a latte by the ocean and looking at the mountains. However Laura has not stopped her involvement with us. She is currently sound editing a number of project that are posting at STAP. Set up with an internet connection she delivers tracks to mix on a regular and reliable basis
Sheridan College graduate Kyle Peters joined the Spence-Thomas team in 2008 after a 3 month internship. Kyle has become our main Voice Record engineer and described video expert. When not locked in the studio Kyle and his many bands can be found playing in the clubs at night.
Other faces that you may see around Spence-Thomas these days include:
Jamie Sulek our long time friend and mix engineer extraordinaire
Jonas Crawley, our Video editing specialist
Marina Manushenko, the cities brightest young mixing spark
Catherine Copelin, Line producer and post supervisor shepherding our large Animation Project
Our youngest engineer Barrett Spence-Thomas learns the ropes. He will be ready to accept bookings in aprox 15 years
